Cybernetics and Economic Informatics

The Cybernetics and Economic Informatics study program has the main goal of training highly qualified economic analysts in management issues, decision-making in the socio-economic area with the application of modern tools, and new information technologies, as well as training specialists in the computerization of economic units and the activity of economic units in the IT field.

The specialist is qualified to fulfil the following activities:

  • research, modelling and streamlining of economic and social processes;
  • providing expertise, preparing alternative decisions and grounded selection of decisions for economic activities; establishing alternatives and decision implementation in the field of computerization and IT activities of the socio-economic units (SEU);
  • IT business, SEU computerization, including aspects related to the management, development, design, implementation and operation of IT products and systems.

The program provides sound economic knowledge for the understanding of economic processes, knowledge in cybernetics for the research and rational orientation of economic processes, and knowledge in computer science for efficient computer-assisted support of various decision-making processes both at the micro-and macroeconomic levels.

Graduates can continue their studies at Cycle II of higher education – the Master’s programme.
